Singing Lessons

As soon as you enter Cultuurhuis de Paulus, you are welcomed with a big smile. You are offered a glass of water or a cup of tea with a treat, and the first question you are asked is: "How are you doing?"
Natalie makes sure you feel truly seen and is genuinely interested in who you are and what is going on. Within the lessons, there is room for more than just the song you are working on.
Singing is a fantastic way to express your emotions, to tell stories, and to completely lose yourself in the music. But this is actually quite contradictory to what is often expected of us in everyday life.
Just act normal, that's crazy enough already. Stay still. Lick those tears away.
In our singing lessons, we turn things around. Just be silly and express yourself fully! Your emotions are welcome; you are allowed to let them be heard and seen. Move... however you feel! Let it all out, make yourself heard. And those tears...? They are more than welcome, just like that big laugh!
Practically speaking, we start the lesson with a chat, warm up our voices, and then get to work on your favorite song. We experiment with your vocal sound, explore the meaning you want to give to the song and the story behind it, and work on your own version of it. Do you write your own songs? You can bring those to class too! I’d be happy to help you further with them.
Twice a year, Natalie organizes a performance for all singing students and her choirs—young and old—where the audience is also welcome! It is also a perfect excuse to work on your presentation skills .
